It takes 9 hrs 19.8 minutes for the student teacher to grade the exams if they worked alone

Solution:

Let the efficiency of the school teacher be “x” and the efficiency of the student teacher be “y”

Here the word efficiency means the rate of doing work

Let the total work to be completed be W

According to the question,

The time taken by the school teacher to complete the work is 7 hrs.

So we can write it in equation form

W = x \times 7 ---- eqn 1

where W is the total work and x is the efficiency

Similarly for student teacher and school teacher doing the work simultaneously, we can write the equation as

W =(x +y ) \times 4

Equating eqn 1 and 2

x \times 7=(x+y) \times 4

7x = 4x + 4y

3x = 4y

So in ratio x : y = 4 : 3

Now putting value of x = 4 in equation (1) we get total work to be 28

Now, total time taken by the student teacher = total work ÷ efficiency of student teacher

Hence, total time taken by the student teacher = 28 ÷ 3 = 9.33 hrs

= 9 hrs 19.8 minutes

Hence it takes 9 hrs 19.8 minutes for the student teacher to grade the exams if they worked alone

LaTanya leaves her house at 12:30pm and bikes at 12 mi/h to marta’s House she stays at marta’s House for 90mij both girls walk b
babymother [125]

Answer:

2.9 mi

Step-by-step explanation:

The time difference t between 12.30pm and 3.30pm is 3h.

Let the distance to Marat's house be s.

The equation to calculate velocity v is given by:

v = distance / time.

Now you can write an equation for the time difference t and use the two velocities and the 90 min(= 1.5h) she stays:

3 = s/12 + 1.5 + s/2.3

Solve this equation for s:

(1/12 + 10/23)* s = 1.5

s = 2.9

Subtract 1.05 from a certain number. Multiply the difference by 0.8, add 2.84 to the product then divide the sum by 0.01 and get
artcher [175]
The number is 6.25.

We will set up an equation for this. Let x be the unknown number. Subtracting 1.05 from it gives us

(x-1.05)

Multiplying the difference by 0.8 would give us

0.8(x-1.05)

Adding 2.84 to the product would give us

0.8(x-1.05)+2.84

Dividing the sum by 0.01 would give us

[0.8(x-1.05)+2.84]/0.01 = 700

We will start working backward, cancelling the division by 0.01 first by multiplying:

([0.8(x-1.05)+2.84]/0.01)*0.01 = 700*0.01

0.8(x-1.05)+2.84 =7

Subtract 2.84 from both sides:
0.8(x-1.05)+2.84-2.84 = 7-2.84
0.8(x-1.05) = 4.16

Use the distributive property on the left side:
0.8*x - 0.8*1.05 = 4.16
0.8x - 0.84 = 4.16

Add 0.84 to both sides:
0.8x - 0.84+0.84 = 4.16+0.84
0.8x = 5

Divide both sides by 0.8:
0.8x/0.8 = 5/0.8
x = 6.25
