Answer:

Nowadays many people around the world have problems with the shortage of drinking water. This is due on the one hand to the greater demand for this resource. On the other hand, climate change has resulted in a shortage of rain in some regions of the world. Another serious problem is that we are contaminating fresh water sources. It is expected that by 2025 3,000 million people will not have access to drinking water

A quantity of a gas has an absolute pressure of 400 kPa and an absolute temperature of 110 degrees kelvin. When the temperature
VMariaS [17]

Answer:  The new pressure of the gas is (A) 854.46 kPa.

The pressure of a given mass of gas at the absolute temperature 110 degrees K is 400 kPa.

The temperature is raised to 235 degrees K  with constant volume.

Therefore,

Initial pressure P_{1}=400kPa

Initial temperature T_{1}=110K

Final temperature T_{2}=235K

Final pressureP_{2}=?

According to pressure law of gas,

\frac{P_{1} }{T_{1} }=\frac{P_{2} }{T_{2} }     ( at constant volume)P_{2}=\frac{P_{1}T_{2} }{T_{1} }

P_{2}=\frac{400X235}{110}

P_{2}=854.46kPa

Thus, the required new pressure of the gas is 854.46 kPa.

The cytoplasmic extensions that, together with the cell body, provide the main receptive surfaces for neurons are the
Harlamova29_29 [7]

Answer:

The correct answer will be option- D.

Explanation:

Neurons are the cells which help in the transmission of the signals to and fro from the CNS and PNS to the body and vice versa. The structure of the neurons is divided into three main parts: the axon, dendrites and the cell body. The dendrites and axons are the extensions of the cell cytoplasm and together constitutes the neurites.

The dendrites are the extensions of the cytoplasm which receives the signals either from the cell surface as well as the from the post-synaptic neurons and further process the signals.

Thus, option- D is the correct answer.

Which of the following most directly influences a measurable outcome in an experiment. An independent variable A variable hypoth
Reika [66]

Answer:

An independent variable

Explanation:

An experiment consists of two variables viz: independent and dependent variable. Independent variable is the variable that the experimenter controls in order to influence or effect a change in the measurable variable called dependent variable. As the name suggests, the dependent variable is dependent on the independent variable.

For example, a scientist is trying to conduct an experiment on how the caffeine level in different types of drink affects the time of sleep in individuals. The independent variable in this experiment is the TYPE OF DRINKS because it is the variable controlled by the experimenter in order to influence the time of sleep (measurable outcome).
