During the 19th century, the ideas of liberty and rights were spreading like rapid fire. After America, received its independence, many countries were inspired to overthrow their monarchies. The French Revolution followed after as well. These ideas of nationalism and pride for one's country definitely motivated the people to be able to have liberty in their own country.
