I want to say that it would be the 'atomic radius' that would increase. Because as this would happen, the atoms would then get smaller and smaller, mainly because the radius would just get smaller and also the atoms would also.

Answer: Option (D) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

Metallic character is defined as the ability of an atom to lose electrons in order to gain stability.

Generally metals show metallic character and no non-metals tends to show metallic character.

When we move from left to right in a periodic table then metallic character decreases due to increase in number of non-metals.

Electronegativity is defined as the ability of an atom to readily accept one or more number of electrons.

It is known that when we move from left to right in a periodic table then there occurs a decrease in size of the elements.

Hence, electronegativity increases on moving from left to right along a period.

Nuclear shielding also decreases from left to right in a periodic table.

Thus, we can conclude that metallic character decreases as we move from left to right across the periodic table.

How might the human population's growth rate change in the future?
Artist 52 [7]

Answer:

The UN projects that the global population increases from a population of 7.7 billion in 2019 to 10.9 billion by the end of the century. By that time, the UN projects, fast global population growth will come to an end.

Beneath the global level, there are of course, big differences between different world regions and countries. While in some regions the world population will likely grow rapidly for the coming decades other regions will continue to see declining population numbers.

Global population growth is determined by the number of births and deaths. Improving health is increasing the size of the population as it is decreasing mortality. The countervailing trend are falling fertility rates – the trend of couples having fewer children is what brought rapid population growth to an end in many countries already, and what will bring an end to rapid population growth globally.

The global population growth rate has already slowed down considerably: It reached its peak at over 2% in the late 1960s and has been falling since.

The UN projections for the global population growth rates, which have been produced since the 1950s, have a good track record in projecting the size of the global population.

While the UN projections are most widely know there are other very carefully produced projections. The demographers of WC-IIASA model what will happen according to different scenarios and make clear that the population growth rate tomorrow depends on what we do today. Rapid progress in getting children and especially girls into schools will result in a much smaller global population.

The biggest disagreement between different projections is concerning the future of Africa. While the UN projects a 3.5-fold increase of the population of Africa, other researchers find a much smaller increase more likely.

The chart shows characteristics of a biome. Less than 25 cm rain per year Animals are mostly active at night Plants have widespr
svlad2 [7]

Answer:

Desert

Explanation:

A biome can be defined as a portion of the biosphere with distinct flora and fauna with respect to abiotic factors such as temperature, rainfall, topography, etc. They play important roles in the sustenance of life on earth.

The major types of biomes that exist in the world include:

 • Desert biomes
 • Tundra biomes
 • Aquatic biomes
 • Forest biomes
 • Grassland biomes

The desert biomes are characterized by very little or no rainfalls with high temperature, low atmospheric moisture and low vegetation cover. Because of the high temperature and sun intensity, animals within deserts are mostly active at night in order to prevent desiccation.

Plants within the desert have also adopted some adaptive attributes in order to cope with the harsh conditions. These adaptations include having extensive roots that take in water quickly when available, possession of modified leaves to prevent excessive water loss due to evapotranspiration, etc.

The biome being described in the question is desert.
