|3 + 10| = |3| + |10| |13| = 13 13 = 13 They do equal with each other.
Absolute values indicate the numbers that are inside those lines will always come out positive. For example, for |3+10|, all you do is solve like you would with parenthesis but the only difference is when you do that is (like I said earlier) you make it come out as positive.
