{-3x+7y=-16 ⇒ -3x=-16-7y (↓)

{-9x+5y=16

The second equation:

-9x+5y=16

3*(-3x)+5y=16 Substitute -3x (↑)

3* (-16-7y)+5y=16

-48-21y+5y=16 /+48

-16y=64 /:(-16)

y=-4

-3x=-16-7y

-3x=-16-7*(-4)=-16+28=12

-3x=12 /:(-3)

x=-4

Solution: (-4; -4)

Given that x=1.5 is the only solution to the equation 4x^2 - ax + b = 0, find the values of a and b. Show all workings.
evablogger [386]
If x = 1.5 is the only solution to the equation 4x² - ax + b =0 then

4x² - ax + b = 4(x - 1.5)² |use p² - 2pq + q² = (p - q)²

4x² - ax + b = 4(x² - 2x · 1.5 + 1.5²)

4x² - ax + b = 4(x² - 3x + 2.25)

4x² - ax + b = 4x² - 12x + 9 |subtract 4x² from both sides

-ax + b = -12x + 9

therefore

-a = -12 ⇒ a = 12 and b = 9

ONE HUNDRED POINT AND BRAINIEST FOR BEST CORRCET ANSWER! PLS HELP ASAP! Cami is comparing the growth rates in the value of two i
Xelga [282]

Answer:

A(t) = 1.032^t

Ring rate grows faster

Annual rate of ring: 4.03%

Step-by-step explanation:

A(t) = (1 + 3.2%)^t

A(t) = (1.032)^t

Ring:

(1 + 0.33%)^(12t)

(1 + 0.0033)^(12t)

(1.0033¹²)^t

1.040326705^t

Increase of (1.040326705 - 1) × 100

= 4.0326705%

Faster rate: ring

pychu [463]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

10^2 + b^2 = 26^2

100 + b^2 = 676

-100 -100
