It was trench warfare that was used to a great extent in World War I. This led to a significant elongation of the conflict, since targeting soldiers was much harder.

Thrench warfare was used extensively during World War I. The first option is correct.

Trench warfare consists on a type of land warfare using occupied fighting lines made up largely of military trenches, in which troops are well-protected from the enemy's small arms fire and are sheltered from artillery.

The most famous use of trench warfare is the Western Front in World War I, which was a global war originating in Europe that lasted from 28 July 1914 to 11 November 1918.

Explanation:

It made the factories more accessible to get freight railed across vast distances reliable and to schedule.

A manufacturer could say they could get something to you door to door almost in 7 days and you could rely on that instead of 10-14 days by horse and cart or longer.

There are probably several reasons for Government regulations but one of the most obvious one was the Rail Gauge (distance between tracks). It enabled all of the rail companies build and use their own locomotives and rolling stock and use the same tracks rather than having to lay their own lines, or have bogie changing stations

olchik [2.2K]
Ah, very fun topic.

The idea of communism started with both Karl Marx and Frederich Engels in The Communist Manifesto. It started spreading throughout Europe, especially to countries like France and Russia where the workers had to work in bad conditions for little to no pay. In the beginning of the 20th century, Vladimir Lenin gave birth to "Marxism-Leninism", and successfully implemented it in Russia after overthrowing the provisional government. After WW2, under Stalin, many Eastern European countries became puppets of Soviet Union, thus gaining communism as their primary party as well. Communism started to decline after the fall of Soviet Union.
