If s plant cell is placed in a hypertonic solution the plant cells lose water and hence the rigidity pressure by plasmolysis pressure decreases to the point where the protoplasm of the cells peel away from the cell wall and it leaves gps between the cell wall and membrane making the plant cell flaccid.
