Loss of specialist species, particularly endemics, changes the community structure and leads to biotic homogenization.  A dam will withhold sediment in the reservoir, not just decreasing the amount of substrate available to local freshwater species, but even impacting diadromous, estuarine and marine species much further downstream.  The competition between resident species for food and breeding sites will increase as damming isolates populations, and perhaps more importantly, damming completely restricts migratory fish species.  Isolation may lead to decreases in genetic diversity and therefore puts species at greater risk from disease.  All of these effects may be exacerbated by changes in the surrounding land use.  Overall, damming river flow will lead to both a loss of native species, but also an increase in exotic species which are more likely to become established in degraded habitats. For this reason, dams are one of the greatest global threats to freshwater biodiversity.</span>

Rain occurs because of moisture gathering higher in the atmosphere. The process that creates rain in the atmosphere has a variety of steps we don't see. This process is called the water cycle. This cycle is never ending, meaning that rain is a constant on the earth as long as there's an ocean or water on the earth.

Water vapor is an atmospheric moisture that is sometimes visible to the naked eye. Water vapor comes in the form of clouds, fog, mist, and dew. The process that creates water vapor is called evaporation, which is where water on the earth is heated to a temperature that makes water molecules spread out and begin to vibrate quicker. This creates water vapor.

The water vapor is commonly carried high into the atmosphere to create clouds. Once the vapor is in the atmosphere, it begins to lower in temperature. This causes condensation, which means the water vapor is reforming into water droplets.

Precipitation Takes place after this. Precipitation occurs when the water droplets are too heavy to carry in the atmosphere, so they drop back down to the earth. After this takes place, the entire process resets, and happens again.

You need to compare the location of bands for X and X's child. X is the mother, so the child will have half of all its bands from its mother, and the other half must be from the father. Some bands that X and X's child have in common are at around 185bp and 130bp (it is difficult for me to determine the exact position). Then look at the bands which X and X's child do not have in common. Those bands must have come from the father. So now you compare the remaining bands to all the bands of Megabucks and see if they match up. You can see a band at around 60bp that the child has. The mother did not have this band, so it must have come from the father. Megabucks does not have this band, so he is not X's father.

The main thing to know is that a child's bands come from their mother and father, so if half the bands match up to the mum, the other half have to match up to some of the father's bands. But a child will never have the same set of bands as one of their parents - it will be a mix of both parents' bands.
