How do you know if you cant factor a quadratic equation?

Mathematics

You can always factor a quadratic using the quadratic formula. Even if you're missing the b or the c. You can't be missing the a, since the a is the variable on the x-squared, which makes it a quadratic in the first place. You may end up with a negative under the square root sign which gives you complex solutions, but solutions nonetheless.

oksian1 [2.3K]

Answer: 0.0548

Step-by-step explanation:

Given, A research study investigated differences between male and female students. Based on the study results, we can assume the population mean and standard deviation for the GPA of male students are µ = 3.5 and σ = 0.05.

Let \overline{X} represents the sample mean GPA for each student.

Then, the probability that the random sample of 100 male students has a mean GPA greater than 3.42:

P(\overline{X}>3.42)=P(\dfrac{\overline{X}-\mu}{\dfrac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}}>\dfrac{3.42-3.5}{\dfrac{0.5}{\sqrt{100}}})\\\\=P(Z>\dfrac{-0.08}{\dfrac{0.5}{10}})\ \ \ [Z=\dfrac{\overline{X}-\mu}{\dfrac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}}]\\\\=P(Z>1.6)\\\\=1-P(Z

hence, the required probability is 0.0548.

for every weekend that mia does her household chores her mother gives her $9.for how many weekends does mia have to do her chore
allsm [11]
So, we'll say Mia gets $4.50 a day, since a standard weekend is two days, therefore adding up to $9 a weekend. So if Mia were to do her chores for 4 weekends, she'd have a total of $36 but not $40. So if she were to work an extra weekend, so 5 weekends, she'd have a total of $45. So you can say 5 weekends in order to earn more than $40.

Write an equation of the line. Express the answer using either the general form or the slope-intercept form of the equation of
Georgia [21]

Answer:

y = x - 4

Step-by-step explanation:

The standard equation of a line is y = mx+b

m is the slope

b is the y intercept

Get the slope

Using the coordinate points (4, 0) and (0, -4)

m = -4-0/0-4

m = -4/-4

m = 1

Since the line cuts the y axis at y = -4, the y-intercept b = -4

Get the equation;

Since y = mx+b

y = 1x + (-4)

y = x - 4

This gives the required equation
