Answer:

10.2 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

The swimming pool would make a right triangle with the pool, if the bottom of the slide touched the bottom of the pool.

If we take the right triangle that would be formed, we have the 50° angle of elevation and the hypotenuse of the triangle, 12.

We are trying to find the height of the platform; this would be the side opposite the 50° angle. The ratio of opposite/hypotenuse is sine; this gives us the equation

sin 50 = x/12

Multiply both sides by 12:

12sin 50 = (x/12)(12)

12sin 50 = x

9.2 = x

Since the bottom of the slide is 1 foot above the ground, the height of the platform is 9.2+1 = 10.2.

The measure of an obtuse angle is given as (3x-42). What inequality describes all the possible values if x for the angel
Masteriza [31]

Answer: x > 74

Step-by-step explanation:

An obtuse angle is greater than 180°. So, 3x - 42 must be greater than 180.

  • 3x - 42 > 180
  •       +42   +42
  • 3x         > 222
  • ÷3              ÷3
  •   x         > 74

e-lub [12.9K]

Answer:

143

Step-by-step explanation:

Substitute n=3 into the problem

6(3^{3})-2(3^{2}) +3-4

Then figure out squared and power by 3

6(27)-2(9)+3-4

Next multiply

162-18+3-4

Finally, add and subtract

144+3=147

147-4=143

Kevin cuts lawns during the summer months. He charges $10 plus $5 per hour. The algebraic model is C = 5h + 10, where C represen
Dafna1 [17]

Answer:

We have;

Hours (h),                            Total cost C

1,                                           5*1 + 10 =  $15

2,                                          5*2 + 10 = $20

3,                                          5*3 + 10 =  $25

4,                                          5*4 + 10 =  $30

5,                                          5*5 + 10 =  $35

Step-by-step explanation:

The given parameters are;

Kevin's fixed charge for lawn cutting = $10

Kevin's charge for lawn cutting per hour = $5

The total cost, C, for cutting lawn cutting by Kevin is C = 5h + 10
