The 3rd and 4th letter in, CG should translate to GC in the RNA strand, but it doesn't. This is why your answer is D.

Translation is the process of making proteins with the help of the cell's machinery. mRNA contains the sequence of codons that code for amino acids. Three codons are required to code a single amino acid. Ribosomes attach to mRNA and move forward codon by codon to read the codon sequence.

Ribosomes allow the binding of specific tRNA which have correct anticodon sequence and attached amino acid according to the triplet codon present on mRNA. So tRNA add amino acids in the polypeptide chain.

Therefore during translation of DNA sequence AAGCTGGGA, a sequence of three amino acid will be linked by peptide bond because the sequence have 9 triplet codon and each will code for one amino acid.

(i). Determine the color of Bob.

(ii). Determine which color is dominant.

(iii). Work out the ratio of brown to white in the ‘grandchildren.’

(iv). If the researcher crosses two of the white 'grandchildren', determine the color of their  offspring.
