Between which two adjacent distances did the largest decrease in the size of the pupil take place?

Biology

Lelu [443]4 years ago
5 0
The question above is about an experiment that was performed on eyes.
The experiment involves covering the left eyes of the experimental subject while the right eye is exposed to light at different distances and the correspondent size of the pupil measured.
In the graph given for the experiment, the largest decrease in the size of the pupil take place between 7 and 8 distances. At distance 7, the size of the pupil is 4mm while at distance 8, the size is 1mm, which means that, there is a decrease of 3mm in pupil size. This is the largest decrease on the graph.

What must happen to water in order for its dissolved minerals to be deposited?¿
Nitella [24]

Explanation:

The water must be cooled. Cooling water means the kinetic energy of the water molecule is reduced. Bombardment with the solute molecules reduces. In addition, The inter-molecular spaces between the water molecules reduce and therefore the number of solutes that can be accommodated in the inter-molecular spaces reduces. This is how saturation point is reached. Therefore as you coll the solution, the solute molecule precipitate from the water.

3 structural changes that must occur in young plants cell as they differentiate into xylem tissue
just olya [345]
Differentiation in plants refers to the processes by which distinct cell types arise from precursor cells and become different from each other. Plants have about a dozen basic cell types that are required for everyday functioning and survival. Additional cell types are required for sexual reproduction. While the basic diversity of plant cell types is low compared to animals, these cells are strikingly different. For example, some cells such as parenchyma cells retain the potential to respond to environmental and/or hormonal signals throughout their life and, under the right conditions, can be transformed into another cell type (transdifferentiation). Other cells such as the water-conducting vessel elements undergo cell death as part of their differentiation pathway and thus can never transdifferentiate to another cell type

What is a diffusion through plasma membrane?
yan [13]
Diffusion is the movement of particles from a high concentration area to a low concentration area. Things that can go through a membrane are ions (charged), small polar molecules. Big molecules can't go through the membrane due to its large size and disrupting the membrane. Passive transport is the movement of substances acrpss the cell membrane w/o the use of energy. Active transport needs energy to move substances across a cell membrane.

A nurse uses maslow’s hierarchy of needs to plan care for a patient with mental illness. which problem will receive priority?
Bad White [126]
The problems that will receive priority are the physiological needs such as air, food and water.
Maslow's hierarchy of needs is a theory in psychology which organizes people's needs according to their priorities. It is represented as a pyramid with five steps which include: physiological(at the base), safety, belongingness, esteem and self actualization.
The physiological needs at the base of the pyramid are the first priorities.
