The pediatrician has used inference as her method of concluding why the community is experiencing such form of disease. In Science, Inference is a form of a smart guess that scientists do in order to gain an understanding of the situation that they are dealing with. Given the particular variables, the Doctor can conclude or at least rule one possibility out of the many possibilities why such disease us present within the community.
