If a quadrilateral is a rhombus then:

i) all its sides have equal length,

and

ii) the 2 diagonals are perpendicular and bisect each other.

The 2 diagonals of rhombus JKLM intersect at N.

Then m(MNJ)=90°,  |JN|=4 and |NM|=3 units

thus, by the Pythagorean theorem,

|MJ|= \sqrt{ 3^{2} + 4^{2} }= \sqrt{9+16}= \sqrt{25}=5

The perimeter of the rhombus is 4*5 units=20 units.

Answer: 20 units

Should the quotient of an integer divided by a nonzero integer always be a rational number? Why or Why not?
lubasha [3.4K]
Yes, it will always be a rational number. I'll expound on this by defining what a rational number is. It is any number that can be expressed as a fraction. Otherwise, it is called an irrational number with a non-terminating decimal expansion. So, although 1/3 has a non-terminating decimal expansion because it is equal to 0.33333333...., it is still a rational number because it can be expressed into a fraction.

Imagine a pond. In it sits one lilypad, which reproduces once a day. Each of its offspring also reproduces once a day, doubling
sergeinik [125]

Answer: On the 29th day

Step-by-step explanation:

According to this problem, no lilypad dies and the lilypads always reproduce, so we can apply the following reasoning.

On the first day there is only 1 lilypad in the pond. On the second day, the lilypad from the first reproduces, so there are 2 lilypads. On day 3, the 2 lilypads from the second day reproduce, so there are 2×2=4 lilypads. Similarly, on day 4 there are 8 lilypads. Following this pattern, on day 30 there are 2×N lilypads, where N is the number of lilypads on day 29.

The pond is full on the 30th day, when there are 2×N lilypads, so it is half-full when it has N lilypads, that is, on the 29th day. Actually, there are 2^{30} lilypads on the 30th, and 2^{29} lilypads on the 29th. This can be deduced multiplying succesively by 2.

If m angle B=m angle D=41, find m angle C so that quadrilateral ABCD is a parallelogram
Charra [1.4K]

ANSWER

139°

EXPLANATION

One of the interior angle properties of a parallelogram is that adjacent interior angles are supplementary.

This means that, the adjacent interior angles add up to 180°.

If

m \angle \: B = m \angle \: D = 41

Then

m \angle \: C + m \angle \: D = 180 \degree

OR

m \angle \: B + m \angle \:C= 180 \degree

\implies41 \degree + m \angle \:C= 180 \degree

\implies m\angle \:C= 180 \degree - 41 \degree = 139 \degree

A bookshop had 650 copies of a book for sale. The books were marked at 75 per copy in order to make a profit of 30%. A bookselle
Ganezh [65]

Answer:

The percentage profit of the bookshop will make on the whole is 27%.

Step-by-step explanation:

The following are given in the question:

Copies of books for sale = 650

Selling price per copy = 75

Copies sold at 5% discount = 300

Discount rate = 5%, or 0.05

Percentage profit per copy = 30%, or 0.30

To calculate cost per copy, the following formula is used:

Percentage profit per copy = (Selling price per copy – Cost per copy) / Cost per copy …….. (1)

Substituting the values into equation (1) and solve for Cost per copy, we have:

30% = (75 - Cost per copy) / Cost per copy

0.30 * Cost per copy = 75 - Cost per copy

(0.30 * Cost per copy) + Cost per copy = 75

1.30 * Cost per copy = 75

Cost per copy = 75 / 1.30

Cost per copy = 57.6923076923077

Therefore, we have:

Total cost = Copies of books for sale * Cost per copy = 650 * 57.6923076923077 = 37,500

Selling price at 5% discount = 75 * (100% - Discount rate) = 75 * (100% - 5%) = 75 * 95% = 71.25

Revenue from sales at selling price at 5% discount = Selling price at 5% discount * Number of sales at 5% discount = 71.25 * 300 = 21,375

Revenue from the remaining copies sold at 75 per copy = (Copies of books for sale - 300) * 75 = (650 - 300) * 75 = 350 * 75 = 26,250

Total revenue = Revenue from sales at selling price at 5% discount + Revenue from sales at 75 per copy = 21,375 + 26,250 = 47,625

Total profit = Total revenue - Total cost = 47,625 - 37,500 = 10,125

To calculate the percentage profit of the bookshop will make on the whole, the following formula is used:

Percentage profit on the whole = (Total profit / Total cost) * 100 ................ (2)

Substituting the relevant values form above into equation (2), we have:

Percentage profit on the whole = (10,125 / 37,500) * 100

Percentage profit on the whole = 0.27 * 100

Percentage profit on the whole = 27%

Therefore, the percentage profit of the bookshop will make on the whole is 27%.
