Biochemically, a chronic condition such as back pain, causes addictions to many harmful drugs like oxicodone, Tylenol with codeine, etc. these pain killers are controlled substances. the patient has to take as directed or dependence will be likely. Dr's will only prescribe monthly and keep a close watch for addiction.
