A ratio is done by setting a relationship between two values using a colon. It is usally explained using a description:description and then you must input the values given for that description.

3.) Since this one has the descriptions of diet and regular sodas and there are 7 and 8 correspondingly, there are two different ratios that can be set up.

diet:regular = 7:8
This means that there are 7 diet sodas for every 8 regular sodas.
Or
regular:diet = 8:7
This means there are 8 regular sodas for every 7 diet sodas.

With this information, the only correct answer is A!

4.)Since this one has the descriptions of green and red apples and there are 5 and 7 correspondingly, there are two different ratios that can be set up.

green:red = 5:7
This means that there are 5 green apples for every 7 red apples.
Or
red:green= 7:5
This means there are 7 red apples for every 5 green apples.

With this information, there are actually two correct answers of B and D.

5.)Since this one has the descriptions of texts and calls made and there are 9 and 3 correspondingly, there are two different ratios that can be set up.

texts:calls = 9:3
This means that there are 9 texts for every 3 calls made.
Or
calls:texts = 3:9
This means that there are 3 calls for every 9 texts made.

With this information, the only correct answer is B!

I hope this helps!

34 in.
Troyanec [42]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Lateral surface area of the triangular prism = Perimeter of the triangular base × Height

By applying Pythagoras theorem in ΔABC,

AC² = AB² + BC²

(34)² = (16)² + BC²

BC = \sqrt{1156-256}

     = \sqrt{900}

     = 30 in.

Perimeter of the triangular base = AB + BC + AC

                                                      = 16 + 30 + 34

                                                      = 80 in

Lateral surface area = 80 × 22

                                  = 1760 in²

Total Surface area = Lateral surface area + 2(Surface area of the triangular base)

Surface area of the triangular base = \frac{1}{2}(\text{Base})(\text{Height})

                                                           = \frac{1}{2}(30)(16)

                                                           = 240 in²

Total surface area = 1760 + 2(240)

                               = 1760 + 480

                               = 2240 in²

Volume = Area of the triangular base × Height

             = 240 × 20

             = 4800 in³

Can anyone solve the last question?
sesenic [268]
As stated in (i), the equation of the line is: ln y = -0.015x + .26
(By the way, I checked your answers for parts (i) and (ii) and they are both correct)

(iii)
Plug in (1.1) for y and solve:
ln (1.1) = -0.015x + .26
0.095 = -0.015x + .26
-0.165 = - 0.015x
 10.979 = x

Answer: x = 10.979
