Hey there! :)

(3x² - 2) + (5x² + 5x - 1)

Remove our parenthesis. Keep in mind that when removing parenthesis, you have to keep a specific rule in mind : positive × positive = positive ; positive × negative = negative ; negative × negative = positive. With that being said, let's remove them! :)

3x² - 2 + 5x² + 5x -1

Combine like terms.

(3x² + 5x²) + (5x) + (-2 - 1) → note that we've added parenthesis into this so that we could clearly distinguish our like terms.

Now, let's simplify.

8x² + 5x + (-3)

Remove our parenthesis.

8x² + 5x - 3

~hope I helped!~

What is the equation,
Orlov [11]

The equation, in slope-intercept form, of the line that is perpendicular to the line y- 4 = -(x-6) and passes through the point (-2,-2) is y = x.

<h3 />

<h3>How to represent equation in slope intercept form?</h3>

The equation in slope intercept form is represented as follows;

y = mx + b

where

  • m = slope
  • b = y-intercept

Therefore,

perpendicular lines follows the rule as follows;

m₁m₂ = -1

Therefore,

y - 4 = -(x - 6)

y - 4 = -x + 6

y = -x + 6 + 4

y = -x + 10

Therefore,

-1m₂ = -1

m₂ = 1

Hence, the line passes through (-2, -2).

Therefore,

-2 = 1(-2) + b

b = -2 + 2

b = 0

Therefore, the equation is as follows;

y = x

The slope of the graphed line is. Which formulas represent the line that is graphed? Check all that apply. Y – 1 = (x – 2) y – 2
IceJOKER [234]

The formula or equation which represent the graphed line with point (1,2) (4,4) and slope 2/3 are,

(y-2)=\dfrac{2}{3}(x-1)\\

(y-4)=\dfrac{2}{3}(x-4)\\

<h3>What is the equation of a graphed line?</h3>

The equation of a graphed line is a way to represent the line which lies on a point on the xy-coordinated with and informed about the steepness and the direction of the line.

The standard form of the equation of a graphed line can be given as,

y=mx+c

Here, (<em>c</em>) is the y intercept of the line and (<em>m</em>) is the slope of the line.

Here, the slope of the graphed line is 2/3. The graph for this problem is attached below.

The two point in the graph below are (1,2) and (4,4). Then the equation of the line, for this two points with slope 2/3 can be given as,

(y-2)=\dfrac{2}{3}(x-1)\\

Using the points (4,4), we get,

(y-4)=\dfrac{2}{3}(x-4)\\

Thus, the formula or equation which represent the graphed line with point (1,2) (4,4) and slope 2/3 are,

(y-2)=\dfrac{2}{3}(x-1)\\

(y-4)=\dfrac{2}{3}(x-4)\\

A circle is drawn within a square as shown. What is the best approximation for the area of the shaded region? Use 3.14 to approx
FrozenT [24]

Answer with explanation:

Length of side of Square = 7 cm

Area of Square = (Side)²=7²=49 cm²

Diameter of circle = 7 cm

So, Radius =\frac{7}{2}=3.5 cm

Area of circle = π × (Radius)²

                       =3.14 × (3.5)²

                       = 3.14 × 12.25

                       =  38.465 cm²

Area of shaded Region = Area of Square - Area of Circle

                                        = 49 - 38.465

                                        =  10.535 cm²

                                        =10.54 cm²
