All the activities are necessary to gain overall good personal hygiene but washing hands regularly and before and after a mean contributes more to a personal hygiene of a person because bacteria can easily enter our body through food while eating with hands if the hands are not properly washed.

Our hand contains bacteria like Staphylococcus aureus, E.coli, Pseudomonas, Klebsiella, etc which can cause severe illnesses like vomiting, diarrhea, and other food borne infections. Washing hands with water decrease bacterial count by 23 percent and this percentage can be increased by washing hands with disinfection.

Therefore eating food items without washing hands is the activity which is an example of poor personal hygiene.
