50 miles, because it is going 60 minutes (1 hour) and that's 40, adding one fourth of 60 (which is 15) and one fourth of 40 (which is 10) it would have to be 50 miles.

Hey there! :D

We know that there are 60 minutes in a hour.

The car travels for 75 minutes.

75 minutes= 1 hour and 15 minutes.

1*40= 40

60/15= 4

We know that 15 minutes of driving is a quarter of an hour.

40/4= 10

40+10= 50

The car drove 50 miles.

I hope this helps!

Find the coordinate that divides the directed line segment from A(-2,-4) to B(8,1) in the ratio of 2 to 3
zalisa [80]
We have that
A(-2,-4)  B(8,1)

let
M-------> the coordinate that divides the directed line segment from A to B in the ratio of 2 to 3

we know that

A--------------M----------------------B
        2                     3
distance AM is equal to (2/5) AB
distance MB is equal to (3/5) AB
so

step 1
find the x coordinate of point M
Mx=Ax+(2/5)*dABx
where
Mx is the x coordinate of point M
Ax is the x coordinate of point A
dABx is the distance AB in the x coordinate
Ax=-2
dABx=(8+2)=10
Mx=-2+(2/5)*10-----> Mx=2

step 2
find the y coordinate of point M
My=Ay+(2/5)*dABy
where
My is the y coordinate of point M
Ay is the y coordinate of point A
dABy is the distance AB in the y coordinate
Ay=-4
dABy=(1+4)=5
Mx=-4+(2/5)*5-----> My=-2

the coordinates of point M is (2,-2)

Joel earns a commission of 5% on the audio equipment he sells , and the store keeps the rest . He sells a $750 amplifier. A. How
den301095 [7]

Answer:

Joel earns $35.00 commission and the store keeps $715.

Step-by-step explanation:

You need to figure 5% of what he sold - or 5% of $750.

Of course, you can use a calculator, or multiply $750 by .05. I prefer to think of 10 percent ($75.00) and half that to get 5%. $35.00.

Joel earns $35.00 on the sale. Not bad!

If he gets to keep $35, deduct this from the price to find out how much the store will keep.

$750 - $35 - $715.
