Elena-2011 [213]

Answer:

1. 5 is a solution to the inequality

2. 8 is a solution to the inequality

3. q=20 is a possible solution to the inequality

4. t=28 is not a possible solution to the inequality

Step-by-step explanation:

1.

1+f<7

subtract 1 from both sides of the inequality;

f<7-1

f<6

The value of f should therefore be strictly less than 6. From the alternatives given only the number 5 meets this condition and is thus a solution to the inequality.

2.

g-3>4

add 3 to both sides of the inequality;

g>4+3

g>7

The value of g should therefore be strictly greater than 7. From the alternatives given only the number 8 meets this condition and is thus a solution to the inequality.

3.

q-2>16

add 2 to both sides of the inequality;

q>16+2

q>18

The value of q should therefore be strictly greater than 18. Consequently, q=20 is a solution to the inequality since;

20>18

4.

t-7<10

add 7 to both sides of the inequality;

t<10+7

t<17

The value of t should therefore be strictly less than 17. Consequently, t=28 is not a solution to the inequality since;

28 is not less than 17.

In a sample of 42 water specimens taken from a construction site, 26 contained detectable levels of lead. Construct a 95% conden
S_A_V [24]

Answer:

The 95% confidence interval for the proportion of water specimens that contain detectable levels of lead is (0.472,0.766).

Step-by-step explanation:

In a sample with a number n of people surveyed with a probability of a success of \pi, and a confidence level of 1-\alpha, we have the following confidence interval of proportions.

\pi \pm z\sqrt{\frac{\pi(1-\pi)}{n}}

In which

z is the zscore that has a pvalue of 1 - \frac{\alpha}{2}.

In a sample of 42 water specimens taken from a construction site, 26 contained detectable levels of lead.

This means that n = 42, \pi = \frac{26}{42} = 0.619

95% confidence level

So \alpha = 0.05, z is the value of Z that has a pvalue of 1 - \frac{0.05}{2} = 0.975, so Z = 1.96.

The lower limit of this interval is:

\pi - z\sqrt{\frac{\pi(1-\pi)}{n}} = 0.619 - 1.96\sqrt{\frac{0.619*0.381}{42}} = 0.472

The upper limit of this interval is:

\pi + z\sqrt{\frac{\pi(1-\pi)}{n}} = 0.619 + 1.96\sqrt{\frac{0.619*0.381}{42}} = 0.766

The 95% confidence interval for the proportion of water specimens that contain detectable levels of lead is (0.472,0.766).

A stereo system is being installed in a room with a rectangular floor measuring 15 feet by 11 feet and a 10-foot ceiling. The s
Likurg_2 [28]

Answer:

Shortest length of wire = 28.60 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Distances In Rectangular Objects </u>

If we want to go from one point in space to another one, the shortest possible distance is through a line. But if we are not allowed to, we must try to use as many direct paths as possible to minimize the distance.

In our case, the minimum distance will be going right from one corner to the other through the air, but we must use walls and floor. So our choices are limited to shorten the distance as much as possible by taking paths from corners whenever it's possible.

Starting from the corner where the stereo system is located, we must try to reach the other corner by using one of these options

  • Cross the floor by its diagonal and then go right to the other corner in the ceiling
  • Cross one wall by its diagonal and then go to the other corner. It can be done for each adjacent wall to the stereo system.

If we try the first option first, the diagonal of the floor measures

\displaystyle \sqrt{15^2+11^2}

And now we reach the other corner, traveling a total distance of

\displaystyle L_1\sqrt{15^2+11^2}+10

\displaystyle L_1=28.60\ {ft}

Trying one of the adjacent walls

\displaystyle L_2=\sqrt{15^2+10^2}+11

\displaystyle L_2=29.028\ feet

And the final option is

\displaystyle L_3=\sqrt{10^2+11^2}+15\ feet

\displaystyle L_3=29,87\ feet

We can see the first is the shortest distance, so to reach the speaker we must cross the floor by its diagonal and the go up to the speaker

Note: Each of the options analyzed have a identical counterpart by taking the opposite side first. For example, the path floor-wall could have been done as wall-ceiling, with identical results

"show that if f has an assignment which satisfies sat"
Iteru [2.4K]
I’m not positive on what you’re asking but I’ll give my answer to my best ability.

If you’re talking about the SAT score range, it is scored between 400 and 1600 for your total score, and 200-800 for each of your two subscores. One subscore is for Math, and then one subscore is your combined Reading and Writing scores to make one Evidence-Based Reading and Writing score. If that makes any sense. I hope I’ve helped and if you’ve got a different question there is always the comment box!
