The longest side of an acute triangle measures 30inches. The two remaining sides are congruent, but their length is unknown. Wha
Nitella [24]

The two short sides must be longer than those required in an isosceles right triangle. The ratio of side length to hypotenuse length in a 45°-45°-90° triangle is 1 : √2. So, such a triangle requires side lengths of 30/√2 ≈ 21.213 inches. Its perimeter will be about

... (30 +21.213 +21.213) in = 72.426 in

Since the perimeter needs to be slightly longer than that for the triangle to be acute, the smallest possible perimeter is ...

... 72.43 in

Determine the number of solutions: 6x-2=x+13
Finger [1]
Answer: B) one solution

Reason: if we solve for the sides of the equation by putting like terms together we get that x = 3

There is no solution when the numbers don’t equal each other, take for instance 1 = 2

It has infinite solutions when the numbers are equal to each other like
1 = 1

It has one solution when the x value is equal to something like x = 9

I also worked out the equation on paper, so you could get a more visual way of how I solved it.

Hope this helps

Two dice are thrown at the same time. Find the probability of getting
astra-53 [7]

Answer:

(i) = ⅙

(ii) = 1/12

Step-by-step-explaination:

Each dice have 6 number

Then for 2 dice the total number is 12

Now,

(i) the same number on both dice.

Probability (P) = no. of outcome ÷ no. of total outcomes

P = 2 ÷ 12 = ⅙

(ii) different numbers on both dice.

Probability (P) = no. of outcome ÷ no. of total outcomes

P = 1 ÷ 12 = 1/12

Give the algebraic expression by using variables and constant and arithmetic operations: i. Sum of the squares of x and y. ii.Pr
Olenka [21]

Answer:

a) x^2 + y^2

b) 9-xy

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, we want to write the algebraic statements as expressions;

a) The sum of the squares of x and y

The square of x is x^2

The square of y is y^2

The sum of the squares is x^2 + y^2

ii) Product of x and y subtracted from 9

The product of x and y is x * y = xy

Subtracting these from 9, we have;

9-xy
