The absolute value is +7. for future references, just remember if it has so negative, the absolute value will be -7... vice versa haha:)

Simplify <br> cosx ( tanx+cotx)
Soloha48 [4]
The first step to solving this is to use tan(t) = \frac{sin(t)}{cos(t)} to transform this expression.
cos(x) × ( \frac{sin(x)}{cos(x)} + cot(x) )
Using cot(t) = \frac{cos(x)}{sin(x)},, transform the expression again.
cos(x) × ( \frac{sin(x)}{cos(x)} +  \frac{cos(x)}{sin(x)} )
Next you need to write all numerators above the least common denominator (cos(x)sin(x)).
cos(x) × \frac{sin(x)^{2} + cos(x)^{2}  }{cos(x)sin(x)}
Using sin(t)² + cos(t)² = 1,, simplify the expression.
cos(x) × \frac{1}{cos(x)sin(x)}
Reduce the expression with cos(x).
\frac{1}{sin(x)}
Lastly,, use \frac{1}{sin(t)} = csc(t) to transform the expression and find your final answer.
csc(x)
This means that the final answer to this expression is csc(x).

David drove 20 miles in 5 mins. Sean drove 45 miles in 9 mins. Who drove at a faster rate? Explain.
mars1129 [50]
Sean drove at a faster rate because if you divide each miles/minutes then it gives you how many miles per minute they drive. 20/5 is 4, and 45/9 is 5, and 5 is greater than 4.

The rate at which a quantity M of a certain radioactive substance decays is proportional to the amount of the substance present
anzhelika [568]

Answer:

2. dM/dt = -0.11M

Step-by-step explanation:

Differential equations for proportional amouts:

A differential equation for proportional amounts is given by:

\frac{dx}{dt} = ax

In which a is the constant rate. If the amount increases, a is positive. If it decays, b is positive.

In this question:

Decays, so a < 0.

Proportional to the amount of the substance present at a given time, which means that a multiplies the amount M.

This means that the correct answer is given by option 2.

Given the definitions of f(x) and g(x) below, find the value of (gof)(1).
Marrrta [24]

Answer:

(g*f)(x) = 34

Step-by-step explanation:

For sake of clarity, (g * f)(x) = g(f(x))

First, find f(1)

f(1) = 2(1)^2 - 2(1) - 4\\f(1) = 2-2-4 \\f(1)=-4

Then, take what you got for f(1) and plug that into g(x).  In this case, f(1) = -4

g(-4) = -5(-4) + 14\\g(-4)= 20 + 14\\g(-4) = 34
