That is price of third shirt is \frac{49.96}{2}=24.98

Thus, Total price of three shirt will be

$(49.96 + 49.96 + 24.98) = $124.90

Now, Given the store applies a  7.1 percent tax to the total value of the three shirts including the tax.

Then, The tax applied will be

7.1% on total cost of three shirts.

That is \frac{7.1}{100}\cdot 124.90=8.87

Adding tax to cost of 3 shirts = $124.90 + $ 8.87 = $ 133.77

Thus, The mean cost of each shirt will be \frac{133.77}{3}=44.59
