y + 1/2x = 7/2  -------------(2)

(1) + (2):
2x  + 1/2x = 1 + 7/2
5/2 x = 9/2
5x = 9
x = 9/5 ---- sub into (1)
2x - y = 1 
2(9/5) - y = 1

y = 18/5 - 1 
y = 13/5
