The tide of war turned against the French in 1757 when Prime Minister William Pitt decided to send more British troops in North America to fight against French. He also saw it as the colonial conflicts to building a vast British empire in future. During the time of the French and Indian War, he was British Secretary of State who took over the wartime operations.
