Well when you go lower with negatives the number gets bigger so
It was -4C then it was 2 lower which is -6C then it got lower again in the evening by 1 degree celcius which gives the answer -7 degrees celcius

the axis of symmetry of a quadratic equation is x = –3. if one of the zeroes of the equation is 4, what is the other zero?
FinnZ [79.3K]
ANSWER

The other zero is

x = - 10

EXPLANATION

The axis of symmetry serves as the midpoint of the two zeroes.

We were given that the axis of symmetry of the quadratic equation is
x = - 3

We were also given that, one of the zeroes of the quadratic equation is
x = 4

Let the other zero of the quadratic equation be
x = p

,then, we apply the midpoint formula to find the value of
p

Since it is the x-values of the intercepts that gives the solution, we use only the x-value part of the midpoint formula which is given by,

\frac{x_1 + x_2}{2} = axis \: of \: symmetry

We substitute to obtain,

\frac{p + 4}{2} = - 3

We multiply through by 2 to get,

p + 4 = - 6

This implies that,

p = - 6 - 4

p = - 10

I am climbing up a mountain that has a lake at the bottom. The lake is 100 feet deep. If I have climbed one third of the way up
Vitek1552 [10]

Answer: 760 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

So, 220 feet is 1/3 of the mountain.

Now, multiply 220 x 3 = 660.

The top of the mountain is 660 feet.

The bottom of the lake is -100 feet.

Now just simply add 100 + 660 = 760

So, the total elevation change is 760 feet.

What is the mean for the data shown in the line plot?

5 and 7
5
4
8
kolezko [41]

Answer:

The mean of the data: 5,7,5,4,8 is 5.8

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the mean, add up the numbers, then divide them by the number of data points. So 5 + 7 + 5 + 4 + 8 = 29, and 29 divided by 5 is 5.8
