11.50 + 1.04x < = 75
1.04x < = 75 - 11.50
1.04x < = 63.50
x < = 63.50/1,04
x < = 61.06.....the dress would have to be less then or equal to 61.06

Answer: $61.06

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the price of sundress be 'x' .

Given : Sydney has a $75 mall gift card.

She wants to buy a sundress and a movie ticket.

The movie ticket with tax costs = $11.50.

The sales tax percentage on sundress = 4%=0.04

Then , the total cost of sundress including the tax will be :-

x+0.04x=x(1+0.04)=1.04x

Since, the limit of purchase is $75, so we have the following equation:-

11.50+1.04x\leq75\\\\\Rightarrow\ 1.04x\leq 63.5\\\\\Rightarrow\ x=\dfrac{63.5}{1.04}=61.0576923077\approx61.06

Hence, the price of ticket = $61.06

Delia is a graphic designer who charges an hourly rate. She made the graph to show her total earnings for various numbers of hou
stich3 [128]

Answer:

approximately 7 hours

see the explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

The picture of the question in the attached figure

Let

x ----> the time worked in hours

y ----> the amount earning in dollars

we know that

A relationship between two variables, x, and y, represent a proportional variation if it can be expressed in the form k=\frac{y}{x} or y=kx

In a proportional relationship the constant of proportionality k is equal to the slope m of the line <u><em>and the line passes through the origin</em></u>

so

In this problem we have a proportional relationship

step 1

Find approximately how many hours would it take Delia to earn $250 ?

Looking at the graph

For y=$250 The value of x is approximately 7 hours

see the attached figure N 2

step 2

Find the exact value

from the graph take the point (5,175)

Find the value of k

k=\frac{y}{x} ----> k=\frac{175}{5}=\$35\ per\ hour

The linear equation is

y=35x

For y=$250

substitute

250=35x

solve for x

x=7.14\ hours

1 hour = 3,600 seconds and 1 mile = 5,280 feet. Make a conjecture about how you could convert a speed of 15 miles per hour to fe
MrRissso [65]

Answer:

  multiply by feet per mile and divide by seconds per hour

Step-by-step explanation:

To get the desired units, multiply by a factor that is equal to 1, but has the desired units in the numerator and the units you're converting from in the denominator.

For units in the denominator that you want to change, use the inverse of the above multiplier.

We have miles/hour, which has miles in the numerator. We want feet/second, which has feet in the numerator, so we need to multiply by the ratio of feet per mile: 5280 ft/mi.

We also have hours in the denominator, where we want seconds. So, we divide by the factor 3600 s/h.

  \dfrac{15\,\text{mi}}{\text{h}}\cdot\dfrac{5280\,\text{ft}}{\text{mi}}\cdot\dfrac{\text{h}}{3600\,\text{s}}=22\,\text{ft/s}
