The country is huge and the responsibility for it is heavy. A huge country cannot be evenly governed by the emperor alone; the r

esponsibility is too great for one man. Thus, the emperor should give land to relatives to guard the outlying prefectures [areas]. Whether the country is at peace or in danger, they cooperate; whether the country is thriving or declining, they work together with one heart.
What advice does Taizong give on the best way to rule?
The emperor should give some land to smaller empires and form alliances.
The emperor should step down and let family members rule.
The emperor should ask family members to become involved in governing the empire.

The correct answer is: "The emperor should ask family members to become involved in governing the empire"

Taizong wants the emperor to continue his reign, but he wants him to also let his family reign as well so that governing the huge country will be easier.

Identify two factors that encouraged the growth of the suburbs in the mid 1900s
steposvetlana [31]
1.  Homes in the suburbs were affordable to middle class families.  This had to do with lower land prices in suburbs vs. the city and also new building practices that brought down the cost of these suburban homes.

2.  The G.I. bill provided loans to military veterans, so this also helped them be able to afford "the American dream" of home ownership.

3.  The construction of highways facilitated travel into the cities for work from the suburbs.  (Note that the Federal Aid Highway Act was passed in 1956.)

4.  There was a perception that life in the suburbs would be safer and less susceptible to crime than life in the city.

That's several reasons you can work with.
