Answer:

$132.1 per unit

Explanation:

For determining the average cost of product Q79Y first we have to solve the activity rate for each activity i.e shown below;

For assembly

= $813,600 ÷ 48,000 machine hours

= $16.95 per machine hour

For processing order

= $65,195 ÷ 1,700  orders

= $38.35 per order

For inspection

= $110,592 ÷ 1,440 inspection hours

= $76.8 per inspection hours

Now the total activity rate is

= $76.8 + $38.35 + $16.95

= $132.1 per unit

Now the average cost of product is

= Direct materials + direct labor + assembly + processing orders + inspection

= $43 + $41.33 +  $35.132 +  $5.438 + $3.7701

= $132.1 per unit

Working notes

For Assembly

= ($16.95 × 1,140 ) ÷ 550

= $19,323 ÷ 550

= $35.132

For Processing orders

= ($38.35 × 78) ÷ 550

= $5.438

For Inspection

= ($76.8 × 27) ÷ 550

= 3.7701

Ashland Corporation estimates its manufacturing overhead costs to be $200,000 and its direct labor costs to be $336,000 for 2020
denpristay [2]

Answer:

Allocated MOH= $99,960

Explanation:

<u>First, we need to calculate the predetermined overhead rate:</u>

Predetermined manufacturing overhead rate= total estimated overhead costs for the period/ total amount of allocation base

Predetermined manufacturing overhead rate= 200,000 / 336,000

Predetermined manufacturing overhead rate= $0.595 per direct labor dollar

<u>Now, we can allocate overhead to Product 3:</u>

Allocated MOH= Estimated manufacturing overhead rate* Actual amount of allocation base

Allocated MOH= 0.595*168,000

Allocated MOH= $99,960

a. Using the starting point formula, what is the price elasticity of demand for going from a price of $160 per unit to a price o
ki77a [65]

Answer:

Price Elasticity of Demand is -4

Explanation:

We can see the graph and easily calculate the Q1 which is 120 units at P1 $140 and Q2 which is 80 units at P2 $160 price.

The starting point formula for calculating price elasticity of demand is given as under:

Price Elasticity of Demand = (ΔQ / Q2)  /  (ΔP / P2)

Here

ΔQ = Q1 - Q2 = 120 - 80 = 40 units

ΔP = P1  -  P2 = 140 - 160 =   - $20

By putting value in the above equation, we have:

Price Elasticity of Demand = (40 Units / 80 Units)  /  (-$20 / $160)

Price Elasticity of Demand = -4

In case of proceed further $175,000 (7,000 units × $25)

Less: In case of sold $56,000   (7,000 units × $8)

Revenue increment $119,000

Less: Cost of processing further -$125,000

Incremental net loss -$6,000

As we can see that there is an incremental loss of $6,000 which reflects to sell off the product not proceed further plus
