Answer:

<em>t=0.816 s </em>

<em>y=3.26 m</em>

Explanation:

<u>Vertical Launch </u>

If an object is thrown vertically in free air (no friction considered), it starts to move upwards at its maximum speed and the acceleration of gravity acts to brake it. At a given time, the object stops in mid-air and starts to fall back to the launching point.

The height of the ball at any time t is given by

\displaystyle y=vo.t-\frac{gt^2}{2}

Where vo is the launching speed, g is the acceleration of gravity and t is the time

The speed of the ball is

v_f=v_o-g.t

a) The ball will keep going upwards until it runs out of speed. It happens when

v_f=v_o-g.t=0

Solving for t

\displaystyle t=\frac{v_o}{g}

\displaystyle t=\frac{8}{9.8}

t=0.816\ s

b) The maximum height is achieved at the time found above:

\displaystyle y=(8).(0.816)-\frac{(9.8)(0.816)^2}{2}

\boxed{y=3.26\ m}

A red horse and a black horse raced on a 1-mile long circular racetrack. The red horse
Lyrx [107]

Answer:

Explanation:

B- The red horse's average speed was greater than the black horse's average speed.

Red average speed = 1/120 = 0.00833 mi/s

Black average speed = 1/150 = 0.00667 mi/s

we only know about average speed based on the information given. Either horse could have had higher or lower, even negative,  instantaneous speed during some phase of the race.

Compare the outermost electrons of an atom with the inner most electrons of an atom in terms of energy
iris [78.8K]
The innermost electron of an atom has the lowest level of energy while the outermost electron has the highest level of energy.
There are different energy levels in the atoms of elements, for an atom to go into an higher level it has to obtain more energy and to go to lower level it has to lose energy.<span />
