At the time when  Tet offensive began in January 1968, the Americans were being informed that the war was in their favor. But a large number of the American population opposed the war. Tet was to determine crucial in transforming the American citizens against the fight.

Tet was a switch in strategies by the socialists. They changed their concentration to South Vietnam's urban communities. They completely abused the broad media inclusion of the war.

Albeit militarily it was destroyed for the socialists, mentally it was incredibly fruitful in further disintegrating the assurance of the American open in their help for the war.
