Answer

Find out the how much prize money did she win.

To proof

Let us assume that the total amount prize money did she win be u.

As given

Mrs.Gill won certain prize money in a cooking competition.

She spent half of the prize money on the clothes

= u -\frac{u}{2}\\ = \frac{u}{2}

one third on grocery

= \frac{u}{2} -\frac{u}{3}

(L.C.M of (2,3) =6 )

= \frac{3u -2u}{6} \\=\frac{u}{6}

gave away the remaining Rs.2000 to an orphanage

2000 = \frac{u}{6}

u =Rs 12000

Rs 12000  prize money did she win.

Hence proved

One number is 2 less than a second number. Twice the second number is 17 less than 5 times the first
gulaghasi [49]
X=y-2
2y=5x-17
Substituting for x into the second equation, we find
2y=5(y-2)-17
2y=5y-10-17
-3y=-27
y=9
So x=7
Thus, the two numbers are 7 and 9.

A sound wave travels through iron at a rate of 5120\,\dfrac{\text{m}}{\text{s}}5120 s m 5120, start fraction, start text, m, e
klio [65]

Answer:

18432 km/h

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that a sound wave travels through iron at a rate of 5120 m/s.

We know that

1 km = 1000 m

1 hour = 60 minutes

1 minutes = 60 second

Using these conversions we get

1 m = 0.001 km

1 hour  = 3600 second

5120\text{ m/s }=5120\times 0.001\times 3600\text{ km/h}

5120\text{ m/s }=18432\text{ km/h}

Therefore, the sound wave travels through iron at a rate of 18432 km/h.
