In humans, there is a phenotype for curly hair and a phenotype for straight hair. The homozygous dominant genotype CC is for cur

ly hair, and the homozygous recessive genotype cc is for straight hair. Heterozygous Cc is a phenotype for wavy hair.

Sample Answer - Frequency of the recessive genotype (straight hair), q2 is 0.36

The square root, q, of 0.36 = 0.6

p + q = 1 so p = 1 – 0.6 = 0.4

The frequency of curly hair with the homozygous CC combination is p2 = 0.16

The frequency of wavy-hair phenotype is 2pq = 2 * 0.4 * 0.6 = 0.48

So 48% of the population will have wavy hair.

The correct answer is letter A, the increased nitrates from the fertilizers leech into the water and cause algal blooms, which take oxygen out of the water and this suffocates fish.

This is one of the many chain reactions that agricultural farming brings to the environment, and it will be very common through the years as people have not figured out a safer way to protect crops.

Which statement describes the relationship between the lizard and the frog on the food web?
levacccp [35]

The correct answer is c. Heterotrophs compete for the same food source.

As it can be seen  from the image of the food web, the tree or plants which are autotrophs are consumed by various heterotrophs. Autotrophs provide as a source of food for several heterotrophs but several heterotrophs depend on other heterotrophs such as smaller insects or animals for their food. As shown in the food web, both frog and lizard are consumers of insects so both being heterotrophs are competing for the same source of food which is insect here.

Referred to as a giant molecule
gregori [183]
Giant covalent structures contain a lot of non-metal atoms, each joined to adjacent atoms by covalent bonds. The atoms are usually arranged into giant regular lattices - extremely strong structures because of the many bonds involved. The graphic shows the molecular structure of diamond and graphite: two allotropes of carbon, and of silica (silicon dioxide).
