The y-intercept is the starting point. So whatever it is that's where you start on the y-axis. Then for the slope it's 3/1 so you go up 3 over 1. Or you can go down 3 over -1. Hope this helps

Get out your graphing paper. Since the slope formula is y=mx+b, we can say that +4 is b, which also stands for the y-intercept. Because +4 is the y intercept, place a point on (0,4). Then, using the slope (m or 3), we can figure out where the second point will go.
Slope is another word for rise over run. In this case it is 3/1 because that is what 3 is when converted to a fraction. So, from (0,4), we go up 3 and over to the right by 1 to plot the second point, (1,7). Connect the plotted points with the ruler.
Tldr; Plot a point at (0,4) because the y intercept is +4, plot a point at (1,7) because the slope is 3/1, and use a ruler to connect the two points in a line.

According to the Rational Root Theorem, what are all the potential rational roots of f(x) = 9x4 – 2x2 – 3x + 4?
Tanzania [10]
The coefficients of x4 is 9. It has factors of 1, 3, and 9. The constant is 4. It has factors of 1, 2, and 4.
The (positive and negative) ratios of the factors of the coefficient of the x4 and the constant 4 are the potential rational roots of the function.
The answers are:
1, -1, 3, -3, 9, -9, 1/2, -1/2, 3/2, -3/2, 3/4, -3/4, 9/2, -9/2, 9/4, -9/4

Industry standards suggest that 10 percent of new vehicles require warranty service within the first year. Jones Nissan in Sumte
borishaifa [10]

Answer:

a)  0.3874

b)  0.3874

c)  0.1722

d) Mean and Standard Deviation = 0.9

Step-by-step explanation:

This is binomial distribution problem that has formula:

P(x=r)=nCr*p^{r}*q^{n-r}

Here p is probability of success = 10% = 0.1

q is probability of failure, that is 90% = 0.9

n is total number, which is 9, so n = 9

a)

The probability that none requires warranty is r = 0, we substitute and find:

P(x=r)=nCr*p^{r}*q^{n-r}\\P(x=0)=9C0*(0.1)^{0}*(0.9)^{9-0}\\P(x=0)=0.3874

Probability that none of these vehicles requires warranty service is 0.3874

b)

The probabilty exactly 1 needs warranty would change the value of r to 1. Now we use the same formula and get our answer:

P(x=r)=nCr*p^{r}*q^{n-r}\\P(x=1)=9C1*(0.1)^{1}*(0.9)^{9-1}\\P(x=1)=0.3874

This probability is also the same.

Probability that exactly one of these vehicles requires warranty is 0.3874

c)

Here, we need to make r = 2 and put it into the formula and solve:

P(x=r)=nCr*p^{r}*q^{n-r}\\P(x=2)=9C2*(0.1)^{2}*(0.9)^{9-2}\\P(x=2)=0.1722

Probability that exactly two of these vehicles requires warranty is 0.1722

d)

The formula for mean is

Mean = n * p

The formula for standard deviation is:

Standard Deviation = \sqrt{n*p*(1-p)}

Hence,

Mean = 9 * 0.1 = 0.9

Standard Deviation = \sqrt{9*0.1*(1-0.1)}=0.9

Please help question in the picture
Tems11 [23]

Answer:

Hypotenuse or c = 75 in.

Step-by-step explanation:

The Pythagorean Theorem is as follows:

a^2 + b^2 = c^2 (We know the length of the legs, or a and b, so we can use the formula to find the length of c, or the hypotenuse)

c^2 = 21^2 + 72^2    (Simplify)

c^2 = 5625    (Take the square root of both sides)

c = 75 in.

Consider the diagram and the paragraph proof below.
bonufazy [111]
<span>Given: Right △ABC as shown where CD is an altitude of the triangle. We  prove that a^2 + b^2 = c^2

Because △ABC and △CBD both have a right angle, and the same angle B is in both triangles, the triangles must be similar by AA.

Likewise, △ABC and △ACD both have a right angle, and the same angle A is in both triangles, so they also must be similar by AA.

The proportions \frac{c}{a} and \frac{a}{f} are true because they are ratios of corresponding parts of similar triangles.

The two proportions can be rewritten as a^2 = cf and b^2 = ce.

Adding b^2 to both sides of first equation, a^2 = cf, results in the equation a^2 + b^2 = cf + b^2.

Because b^2 and ce are equal, ce can be substituted into the right side of the equation for b^2, resulting in the equation a^2 + b^2 = cf + ce.

Applying the converse of the distributive property results in the equation a^2 + b^2 = c(f + e).

The last sentence of the proof is

Because f + e = c, a^2 + b^2 = c^2.</span>
