Answer:

h(5) = - 22

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that h is a linear function say, h(x) = ax + b ......... (1)

Now, given that h(1) = 10 and h(3) = - 6

Hence, we can write from equation (1), a(1) + b = 10, ⇒ a + b = 10 .......... (2)

And a(3) + b = - 6, ⇒ 3a + b = - 6 ........ (3)

Now, solving equations (2) and (3) we get (3a - a) = - 6 - 10

⇒ 2a = - 16

⇒ a = - 8

So, from equation (2), we get, b = 10 - a = 18

Therefore, the linear function is

h(x) = - 8x + 18

Hence, h(5) = - 8(5) + 18 = - 22 (Answer)

The area of a parallelogram is 96 cm squared the height is 4 cm less than the length what is
andrey2020 [161]
Area of paralellogram=legnth times height

l=legnth
h=height
area=96

lh=96

h is 4 less than l
h=-4+l
sub
l(-4+l)=96
-4l+l^2=96
minus 96 both sides
l^2-4l-96=0
factor
(l-12)(x+8)=0
set to zero
l-12=0
l=12

l+8=0
l=-8, imossible, legnth cannot be negative, disreagard this soultion

legnth=12cm

Give that the point (15,-11) is on the graph of a one-to-one function f(x), find a point on the graph of f^{-1}.
zvonat [6]

Given:

The point (15,-11) is on the graph of a one-to-one function f(x).

To find:

The a point on the graph of f^{-1}.

Solution:

We know that, if the points on the graph of a one to one function are given by (x,y), then the points on the graph of its inverse function are given by (y,x).

In the point (15,-11).

x-coordinate = 15

y-coordinate = -11

In the inverse function,

x-coordinate = -11

y-coordinate = 15

Therefore, the required point on the graph of f^{-1} is (-11,15).
