This is a controversial topic but in my opinion, churches should have standards. if they don't believe something is right and they have good reasoning behind it, then they shouldn't accept it. we hear a lot about churches changing their rules to appeal to the majority of the people, but that isn't how it should be. i'm guessing you meant to put children after the parents, and if so, i think that's there because if they really believed in the Mormon religion, and they wanted their child to be baptized into it, then they would sacrifice their relationship for the child. I'm not really familiar with this kind of stuff but this is just my two cents.

How did Enlightenment ideas impact the development of economic, political, and religious structure in the western world?
Vladimir79 [104]

It started a revolution around the world people started to think on thier own and this cause chaos scientists started to test and explain their theories this caused the church to revolt against the scientists, and when the church then found that they were wrong the people started to think about other things they were wrong about, this eventually causes the government to revolt against the church. People were now able to think on their own which is the main point.
