Graupel also have another name that is soft hail. Graupel is white in color and opaque . It is very soft , graupel is smaller than hail. They look like tiny snow balls.

Graupel is precipitation that is formed when highly cooled water droplets are accumulated and freezes when falls. The diameter ranges from 2 mm to 5mm. Graupel normally can be seen in high altitude climate. Graupel are denser as well as more granular than original snow.
