Sum of one-sided angles is 180°

(16x+2)^\circ+(45x-5)^\circ=180^\circ\\(61x)^\circ=183^\circ\\ \\ x=3

Sum of two adjacent supplementary angles = 180 .

(26y)^\circ+(16x+2)^\circ=180^\circ\\ (26y)^\circ+(16\cdot3+2)^\circ=180^\circ\\ (26y)^\circ+50^\circ=180^\circ\\ (26y)^\circ=130^\circ\\ y=130^\circ:26^\circ\\y=5

Answer: x=3 and y = 5.

Write an explicit formula for a_na
Masja [62]

Explicit formula for the sequence 29,20,11....... is a_n=38-9n

Given :

term of the sequence 29, 20, 11, ...

We need to find out the formula for the nth term of the given sequence

Lets find out whether the given sequence is arithmetic or geometric

In the given sequence , common difference is 9

20-29=-9\\11-20=-9

we can say difference =-9

General explicit formula

a_n=a_1+(n-1)d

where a1 is the first term

common difference d=-9

substitute the values

a_n=a_1+(n-1)d\\a_n=29+(n-1)(-9)\\a_n=29-9n+9\\a_n=38-9n

Explicit formula for the sequence 29,20,11....... is a_n=38-9n

Solve the system of linear equations by graphing. y = –5/2x – 7 x + 2y = 4 What is the solution to the system of linear equation
muminat

ANSWER

(–4.5, 4.25)

EXPLANATION

The first equation is

y =  -  \frac{5}{2}x - 7

This function is in the slope-intercept form

The second equation is:

x + 2y = 4

2y =-x+ 4

y =  -  \frac{1}{2}x + 2

The graph of the two functions are shown in the attachment.

The point of intersection represents the solution to the system of equations they represent.

The solution is

(–4.5, 4.25)
