Using F = ma to the direction of travel;

-F = 1000 * a

-F is due to the reverse direction of the frictional force.

F = 0.8 * 1000 * 9.81 = 7250 N
-7850 = 1000 * 9
9 = -7.85m/s^2

Using V^2 = U^2 + 2aS to the direction of trabel

0 = 20^2 + 2(-7.85)S

S = 25.5m

So the skid marks will be there for 25.5 which estimated is 26m.

The correct answer is 26m.

I hope this helps you out!

A hard rubber ball on a string is being used as a pendulum. When you first look at the pendulum, the ball is being held to one s
Wittaler [7]

Answer:

<h2>Total thermal energy for all air molecules is 59.54 J</h2>

Explanation:

As we know that the ball comes to rest finally so here we can say that

initial total potential energy of the ball is transferred to the air molecules

So here we have

E_{th} = mgh

E_{th} = (6.2 kg)(9.8 m/s^2)(0.98 m)

So here we have

E_{th} = 59.54 J

So all the gravitational potential energy of the ball will convert into thermal energy of air molecules which is equal to 59.54 J

A 16 kg mass suspended from a light spring is replaced by a 4 kg mass. What factor changes the frequency of the oscillation? (a)
AnnZ [28]

Answer:

Frequency change by a factor of 2.

(b) is correct option.

Explanation:

Given that,

Mass = 16 kg

Replaced mass = 4 kg

We need to calculate the frequency

Using formula of frequency

f=\dfrac{1}{2\pi}\sqrt{\dfrac{k}{m}}

Put the value into the formula

f_{1}=\dfrac{1}{2\pi}\sqrt{\dfrac{k}{16}}

f_{1}=\dfrac{1}{2\pi}\dfrac{\sqrt{k}}{4}}....(I)

f_{2}=\dfrac{1}{2\pi}\sqrt{\dfrac{k}{4}}

f_{2}=\dfrac{1}{2\pi}\dfrac{\sqrt{k}}{2}}...(II)

f_{2}=2f_{1}

Hence, Frequency change by a factor of 2.
