Answer:

1) pathway taken by water

water is absorbed from the soil, through the root hair cells and is transported by the xylem vessel up the stem to the leaf and/or flowers. From the leaf, some water is lost to the atmosphere as vapors escape out through the stoma present in the lower epidermal layer of the leaves.

2) water potential gradient

water potential refers to the concentration of water present. A gradient forms when there is a difference between the concentrations of water in two regions separated by a partially permeable membrane.

Hence, water moving down a water potential gradient means that it goes from a region of high water potential to a region of low water potential.

3) There are tiny openings on the lower side of the leaves called as stomata (plural: stoma) that allow for gaseous exchange to occur. These openings are controlled by guard cells which are open during the day and close during the night.

Hope that answers the question, have a great day!

Answer:

1. The pathway of water in plants is described as follows:

Water moves from the root of the plant to the xylem, from the xylem to mesophyll, from the mesophyll water diffuses out of the plant through the stomata.

2. Water potential gradient is the direction through which water moves in a plant

3. The STOMATA is the structure that allows necessary gases to enter and water to leave

Explanation:

1. The pathway of water through plants can be described as follows:

Water enters into plants through the hairs found on the roots of plants. From the roots of plants, water moves into xylem, from the xylem water is transported to the mesophyll. From the mesophyll , water diffuses out of the stomata as water vapour.

2 Water potential gradient is the pathway through which water moves through a plant

3. The stomata are pores that are located on the surface of leaves and stems of plants. It plays a very important roles in plants during transpiration. The stomata allows essential gases such as Carbon dioxide to enter into plants and allows water to leave the surfaces of plants as water vapour through the process of diffusion.

Novosadov [1.4K]

Answer:

Individuals that are well adapted to their environment will survive and reproduce

According to Charles Darwin's theory of evolution by natural selection, organisms that possess heritable traits that enable them to better adapt to their environment compared with other members of their species will be more likely to survive, reproduce, and pass more of their genes on to the next generation.

If China has a population of 1,355,935,022 people and an area of 3,705,405 mi^2 what is the population density of China?
Setler79 [48]

The right option is; d. 366 people/mi^2

Population density is a measure of the number of people that constitute the population in a particular area per square kilometer or square mile.

From the question, the population of China is; 1,355,935,022, and the land area is; 3,705,405 mi^2.

Population Density = Number of People / Land Area.

Population Density =1,355,935,022/ 3,705,405 = 365.93 = 366 people/mi^2.

Therefore, the population density of China is 366 people per square mile.
