<u>Effects of diabetes on the plasma membrane:</u>

The diabetes has many ill effects while its effect in the case of plasma membrane is one among them.  The Type II diabetes affects the plasma membrane of the Red Blood Cells while also, the plasma membranes undergo alterations due to ageing process.

The diabetes reduces the glucose intake level thereby affecting the plasma membrane. As already said, this when coupled with ageing process’ alterations leads to severe alterations in the plasma membrane.
