If the consequences deducted from your hypothesis is true, this provides some inductive support for the hypothesis. Formally, the relationship is "If P, then Q" and "Q" (which is the consequence) therefore "Probably P". It definitely doe NOT mean that P is true even though one predicted event from P (namely Q) turns out to be confirmed. After all, the hypothesis might still be falsified when tested under different circumstances.

bulgar [2K]

Answer:

Law of Effect.

Explanation:

Edward L. Thorndike (1874-1949) was an American psychologist and researcher, and one of the pioneers of behavioral psychology. Thorndike's experiments with cats led him to discover a psychological pattern he called the Law of Effect. According to this law, if faced with similar or recurring situations, we tend to repeat the behaviors that resulted in satisfying or positive consequences, while we don't tend to repeat the behaviors that resulted in unpleasant or negative consequences. One application of this principle was a learning method based on rewards and punishments called operant conditioning, developed by another well-known American psychologist and author, B. F. Skinner, in the early 20th century.

butalik [34]

The 1976 National Emergencies Act and the 1988 Stafford Act were made to restrict the emergency power of the President.

  • According to the 1976 National Emergencies Act, the President is able to activate some special powers whenever there's a crisis. In such a case, the President has to inform Congress about the intention to declare a national emergency.

  • According to the 1988 Stafford Act, the federal government was given the authority to provide assistance to states when there's an emergency or disaster.

In conclusion, in both cases, the President has to inform Congress about his intentions. This is done to limit the emergency power of the President.

creativ13 [48]

Answer:

After the abolition of slavery, former slaves had to integrate into society as free men and women. One of the common jobs that former slaves took up was sharecropping, in which a farmer would get a portion of the crops they harvested for a landowner. In this informational text, the author explores the difficulties for blacks and whites to adjust to the time period following the Civil War.

[1]When slavery ended in 1865, 4 million enslaved people were given their freedom. People who were born into slavery, like Houston Hartsfield Holloway, found that this important change also created a challenge. In his autobiography, Holloway wrote that he and other former slaves “did not know how to be free” and that “white people did not know how to have a free colored person about them.” His words reflect the difficulties of Reconstruction, a time period that came after the Civil War.
