It is defined as an  effect that acts upon the objects and cause deflection as they travel long distances around Earth. It occurs due to the earth's rotation. As,earth spins in an counter-clockwise direction, therefore  anything large on its surface is to get deflected.

Thus,the Coriolis effect  not only influences the wind trajectory also changes the ocean currents and it also influences the weather condition.Due to this effect it also affect fast moving objects and to describe such deflections the term Coriolis effect is used.
