Cells metabolise these macromolecules into smaller components which will be later used namely, carbohydrates, proteins, fats and nucleic acids.
These macromolecules could either be amino acids, proteins or nucleic acids. They are responsible for the chemical changes and reactions that affects largely the cell and its composition. Take for instance the cytoplasm of the cell where these organelles are settled. These simple organelles are composed of macromolecules which ignites and catalyses different functions that enables cells, in macro-perspective in motion and metabolism. In intestines for example, metabolism happens and breaking down parts of a food to simpler compounds that are used and these nutrients delivered throughout the body and again broken down by into smaller components.

How do rates of mutation "power" molecular clocks?
stepladder [879]
Molecular clocks use rates of mutation to measure evolutionary time.Mutations add up at a fairly constant rate in the DNA of species that evolved from a common ancestor. The more mutations that happened in each lineage, the greater is the differences between these lineages.

20) In order for high force cross bridges to form in contracting skeletal muscle, calcium must A) phosphorylate the troponin to
SashulF [63]

Answer:

E. bind to troponin which moves the tropomyosin

Explanation:

calcium ions bind to troponin, causing conformational changes in troponin that allow tropomyosin to move away from the myosin binding sites on actin. Once the tropomyosin is removed, a cross-bridge can form between actin and myosin, triggering contraction

2. Most mutations are "silent." What does this mean?
Zielflug [23.3K]

Explanation:

Silent mutations occur when the change of a single DNA nucleotide within a protein-coding portion of a gene does not affect the sequence of amino acids that make up the gene's protein.

gtnhenbr [62]

Answer and Explanation:

The difference between a food chain and a food web:

Food Chain

- Only one possible direct line of energy going through organisms

- Consists of usually 4-6 organisms

Food Web

- Multiple links that branch off in a web-like form, with some organisms being interconnected with each other.

The answer is the third option: A food chain represents one possible pathway that energy and matter can take in an ecosystem. A food web contains multiple, interconnected food chains and describes how energy and matter moves through an entire ecosystem.
