Photosynthesis stores energy in organic compounds. This organic compound is glucose. The reactants that are used by photosynthesis to make this organic compound are the carbon dioxide and water (which are abiotic factors). Glucose is then used as an energy source by the plant to power its biological proceses.

Two students set up the following apparatus in a lab: a pipette was filled with a mixture of yeast and apple juice and inverted
UkoKoshka [18]

Answer:

The most appropriate answer would be carbon dioxide and cellular respiration.

Yeast is a single-celled eukaryotic organism which is capable of doing anaerobic (fermentation) as well as aerobic respiration.

It uses cellular respiration (whether aerobic or anaerobic) for the production of energy, that is, adenosine triphosphate (ATP).

Cellular respiration refers to the set of chemical reactions which are involved in breaking down sugar or glucose to produce ATP. The carbon dioxide is produced as a byproduct.

Thus, yeast breakdown the sugar present in apple juice to produce ATP and carbon dioxide.

This carbon dioxide is released in the form of bubbles.

A strain of bacteria has a CRISPR-Cas system, but a mutation has destroyed the function of the Cas9 gene. How will the strain of
bogdanovich [222]

If mutation destroys the function of the Cas9 gene then the bacteria will not be able to target a specific bacteriophage for destruction upon infection for the second time.

<h3>What is the Cas9 gene?</h3>
  • Cas9 is a 160 kilodalton protein that plays a vital role in the immunological defense of certain bacteria against DNA viruses and plasmids and is heavily utilized in genetic engineering applications.
  • Its main function is to cut DNA and thereby alter a cell's genome.
  • Although Cas9 is an endonuclease and is evolved as a mechanism of immunity against viruses, they are not considered restriction enzymes.

What are the changes that one can expect to observe as a plant tissue culture develops?
ahrayia [7]

The changes that one can expect to observe as a plant tissue culture develops is the development of new shoots and root.

<h3>What is a Culture?</h3>

This refers to the process in which microorganisms, living matter etc are grown in a specially prepared nutrient medium which are made up of different types of compounds.

In the case of a plant tissue culture, there will be new shoot and root formation due to the presence of nutrients in which the plants are exposed to for its growth and survival.

This is therefore makes changes in the shoot and root be the most appropriate choice.
