Find the missing factor x^2-11x+18=(x-2)( )

Mathematics

I'd use synthetic div. here, with 2 as my divisor:

      ________________
2   /   1    -11    18
                  2   -18
     ----------------------------
         1     -9      0

Note that the coefficients of the missing factor are given here and are 1 and -9. Thus, (x-9) is the missing factor.

Bryson and lilly played a game of darts and lilly scored 4 more the Bryson the total of the score was 180 how many points did ea
ki77a [65]
Well, we know that Lilly scored 4 more points than Bryson. So we could write that
Lilly's score = Bryson's score plus 4. Or L=B+4 Now we also know that
Lilly's score + Bryson's score = 180. So L+B=180 Now We can substitute in L in the second equation to get B+B+4=180 so B+B=176 and B=88 The we put B into the first equation and find that
L=92.

Finding terms of an arithmetic sequence with a recursive formula

a1 =12 an= an-1+7
Basile [38]

Hey there!!

Recursive formula :

... a( n ) = a ( n - 1 ) + 7

The first term is 12

To find the second term, we will need to substitute 2 in place of ' n '

2 term :

... a( 2 ) = a ( 2 - 1 ) + 7

... a( 2 ) = a( 1 ) + 7

We know a( 1 ) = 12

... a( 2 ) = 12 + 7

... 19 is the second term and we will need to use this to find the other terms.

Hope my answer helps!

At A Local Restaurant, The Health Inspector Visits Every 7 Days, And The Fire Inspector Visits Every 12 Days.
Xelga [282]
PART A :OK so here is the table for the health inspector; all you are really doing is 7+7+7, and so on:

PART A: health inspector: 7,14,21,28,35,42,49,56,63,70,77,84..........

PART A:same thing for the fire inspector, except this time your adding 12+12+12, and so on:

PART A: fire inspector: 12,24,36,48,60,72,84,96.......

PART B: and to figure out what day they will both come is you have to find the LCM (least common multiple)

PART B: which in this case is Day 84

hopes this helps!!!!!
