Answer:

\boxed{ \bold{ \huge{ \sf{x = 29}}}}

Step-by-step explanation:

\sf{ - 3(3 + x) + 4(x - 6) =  - 4 }

Distribute -3 through the parentheses

Similarly, Distribute 4 through the parentheses

⇒\sf{ - 9 - 3x + 4x - 24 =  - 4}

Collect like terms

⇒\sf{x - 9 - 24 =  - 4}

Calculate

⇒\sf{x - 33 =  - 4}

Move 33 to right hand side and change it's sign

⇒\sf{x =  -  4 + 33}

Calculate

⇒\sf{x = 29}

Hope I helped!

Best regards!!

Answer:

Part A

5yr old boy.

Y=-(1/8)x+113/8 x=5

Y=-5/8+113/8=(113-5)/8=108/8

Y=13.5 hrs

Yes the estimated value of sleep by this function is reasonable as it is close to childhood more sleep is likely.

Part B

20yr old boy.

Y=-(1/8)x+113/8 x=20

Y=-20/8+113/8=(113-20)/8=93/8

Y=11.63 hrs

No the estimated value of sleep by this function is not reasonable as the normal sleep of 7-8 hrs is enough for adults.

In 2015 Michael purchased a stock for $45.80 a share. During the year he received $1.71 per share in cash dividends. At the end
timama [110]
Michael's initial investment is $45.80, the cost of the share.
Michael Receives $1.71 in dividends.
He receives $47.50 for the stock when he sells it.
His profit on the sale of the stock is $47.50 - 45.80 = $1.70.
His total return on the stock is his total earnings, the dividends plus his profits on the sale of the stock, divided on what he paid initially, $45.80:
(1.71 + 1.70) ÷ 45.80 = .0744 = 7.45%
7.45% return on investment in less than a year, not bad!
Closest answer is 7.7%, not sure why it isn't exactly 7.45 or 7.5%.

Answer is B) 7.7%
