Plains Indians (Plains Native Americans)

As the colonists moved west, they wanted more land.  They wanted to establish more cities/villages in the plains and also in the west where the Native Americans lived. The Native Americans also depending on the migration of the animals - deer, buffalo, etc. - for hunting which provided them with food and clothing. Stamp Act

The Stamp Act was passed as part of a series of acts meant to produce tax money from the colonies to pay for the debt created from the French-Indian War.

The Stamp Act was the first direct tax placed on the colonies. The colonists violently opposed the act by rioting in the colonies. The colonists argued they were not represented in Parliament and therefore it was unconstitutional for England to place direct taxes on the colonies. The attacks on stamp collectors forced Parliament to reverse the Stamp Act a year after it passed.

you want to learn about your Congress person is voting record where would you find information on how they voted
Irina18 [472]

Nowadays that is quite easy if you have a computer with an internet connection and know how to use it. You need to go to the Senate or the House web page and examine the roll call vote tallies to find the exact record of votes every day.

You can also go to the Congressional record web page for vote tallies for the two chambers of Congress. However it is important to make a difference between the different types of votes since not all of these are recorded by name. Voice votes are only voted by the Congressperson saying “aye” or “no” to a particular proposition or bill. Division or standing votes are voted by raising a hand and then the presiding officers count the Members.
