An aircraft seam requires 22 rivets. The seam will have to be reworked if any of these rivets is defective. Suppose rivets are d

efective independently of one another, each with the same probability. (Round your answers to four decimal places.)
(a) If 19% of all seams need reworking, what is the probability that a rivet is defective?
(b) How small should the probability of a defective rivet be to ensure that only 9% of all seams need reworking?

Answer:

Part A:

p=0.0095

Part B:

p=0.0043

Step-by-step explanation:

Part A:

The number of rivets=22 rivets

Probability that no rivet is defective= (1-p)^22

The probability that at least one rivet is defective=1-(1-p)^22

For 19% of all seams need reworking, probability that a rivet is defective is given by:

1-(1-p)^{22}=0.19

(1-p)^{22}=0.81\\p=1-\sqrt[22]{0.81} \\p=0.0095

Part B:

For 9% of all seams need reworking, probability of a defective rivet is:

1-(1-p)^{22}=0.09\\p=1-\sqrt[22]{0.91} \\p=0.0043

viva [34]

Answer:

(see below)

Step-by-step explanation:

First, to make it easier for yourself, "flip" the triangles so that they "match." To see what I'm talking about, refer to IMAGE.A.

Now that you can tell that the congruent side and angles are corresponding, you have to prove them congruent.

There is one side and two angles, so it's AAS or SAA.

there are 12 students working in a library if three Fourth of them are girls how many girls are working in the piano
Len [333]
I don’t really get your question, because you said that ¾ of them are girls, Then how many girls are working in the piano? You did not stated the question well. However, I will try to answer this base on my understanding. There are a total of 12 students that works in the library. IF ¾ of them are girls: => 12 / 4 = 3 *3 = 9 => 9 of them are girls and 3 of them are boys. Thus, how many girls are working in the piano. The probability is 9, there might be 9 girls working in the piano, or less than 9. Since you did not mention how many girls worked in different part of the library.

Answer:

2. \left[\begin{array}{ccc}1&4\\0&3\\\end{array}\right]

3. \left[\begin{array}{ccc}-3&21&60\\-15&9&-45\\\end{array}\right]

4. \left[\begin{array}{ccc}6&-14\\-2&-6\\\end{array}\right]

Step-by-step explanation:

2. This matrix is easy, as it just requires addition.

\left[\begin{array}{ccc}1&4\\0&3\\\end{array}\right]    +     \left[\begin{array}{ccc}0&0\\0&0\\\end{array}\right]   =  \left[\begin{array}{ccc}1&4\\0&3\\\end{array}\right]

3. This matrix requires for the matrices to be multiplied first, then added.

\left[\begin{array}{ccc}9&-15&18\\-27&15&-9\\\end{array}\right]    +     \left[\begin{array}{ccc}-12&36&42 \\12& -6 & -36 \\\end{array}\right]     =   \left[\begin{array}{ccc}-3&21&60\\-15&9&-45\\\end{array}\right]

4.  Here we can add the last 2 matrices to find x.

\left[\begin{array}{ccc}2&-8\\-4&2\\\end{array}\right]   +   \left[\begin{array}{ccc}4&-6\\2&-8 \\\end{array}\right]  = \left[\begin{array}{ccc}6&-14\\-2&-6\\\end{array}\right]

Hope this helps! (Please consider giving brainliest)

ASHA 777 [7]

Answer:

$88

Step-by-step explanation:

One way to calculate the percent of a number is to multiply the percent by the total value:

60% is equivalent to 0.6

Multiply 0.6 x 220

0.6 x 220 = 132

Since it is 60% OFF, you subtract 132 from 220

220 - 132 = 88
